Josie’s a sophomore in high school in La Grange, Illinois – and is as Midwestern, down to earth and organically real as you get.
Josie plays ukulele, piano, guitar, sings and writes. While her peers are listening to Justin Bieber and “New Direction,” Josie has Sarah Vaughn, Sam Cook, Bill Withers and Stevie Wonder in her iPhone.
Josie has that rare gift, having nothing to do with music, of absolutely lighting up a room. Lighting up a stage. She’s natural, uninhibited, funny, and amazingly likeable.
In her home town, she’s got a rifle for an arm as the catcher on her fast-pitch all-girl softball team, she’s getting straight A’s in school, and she’s the President of her class of 1,250 students in a gargantuan Chicago suburban high school.
She’s currently on a Whole Foods Market’s “Special Release” with “Alabama Shakes,” “Bonnie Raitt,” “The Civil Wars,” and “Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.” She stunned 25,000 in a live event in California. She’s in the studio in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Nashville writing and recording with significant songwriters and producers. There’s a film crew following her around shooting a documentary of her journey – while she’s juggling real life.
